Musical Multi-Threat Will Champlin Receives First-Ever GRAMMY Nomination

Nashville, TN – Singer, songwriter, musician and producer Will Champlin can now add Grammy nominee to his list of accolades. Champlin co-wrote the song “Ordinary Me” with producer Keith Thomas and R&B artist Heather Headley. The song appears on Headley’s album, Audience of One, which received a 2010 Grammy nomination in the category of Best Contemporary R&B Gospel Album and is Champlin’s first major cut.

Other nominees in the category include Sheri Jones-Moffett / Renewed, J Moss / Just James, Smokie Norful / Smokie Norful: Live and Kierra Sheard / Bold Right Life.

The Los Angeles-bred musician began crafting his talent on the West coast. He later moved to Boston to study at the Berklee College of Music and also spent time in Nashville perfecting his songwriting with some of Music City’s finest.

Champlin grew up in a family that fostered and encouraged his natural musical abilities. His Mother is an accomplished singer/songwriter and his Father, Bill Champlin, is a member of the infamous rock band, Chicago. In 2006, Will Champlin toured as the front man for the Salvador Sanata Band, opening for Carlos Sanata and Los Lonely Boys throughout the U.S. In 2008, he won a Hollywood Music Award in the R&B/Soul category for a song from his debut album, Now That We’re Fallin.
