The Busiest day of our lives...

4/21/2008 at 2:22 PM

Things we experienced today....

a.) an earthquake
b.) a record-setting number of shows in a 12 hour period
c.) a really big ghost

I can’t prove one of these things.
But in all seriousness, I believe April 18, 2008 may or may not go down in history as one of the busiest days of our lives. After a late night drive to Naperville, IL, and a lack in…knowing anyone who actually lives in Naperville (though my college roomate used to… that was no good to us at 2 am last night) resulted in us sleeping in, you guessed it, yet another Wal Mart parking lot.
But it wasn’t so cold this time! We actually cracked a window and enjoyed some seasonable Midwestern-style springtime! Woo-woo! Anyway, after a couple hours of sleep, John Paul woke up at 4:45am, the van shaking, and the rest of us either drooling or sleep talking like fools. After looking around and making certain no windows were broken and no Gary’s missing, he shrugged and went back to sleep. Little did he know, the LOL (that’s Land of Lincoln, btw) had just been struck with an earthquake.
srsly.
srsly srsly.
A five point something, too. I didn’t know that even happened in the Midwest! What does this mean? End of the world? You decide.
Beyond the shock (get it?!?) of it all, the quake didn’t really affect our day. But still! We went on to play the most shows we have ever played in a day, and really in 12 hours, for that matter.
avg. shows per day = 1
shows today = 4
One of which was an unplanned Relay for Life set. Awesome day.
I don’t want to say too much about the big ghost… I have it on video, but we’re on (another) late night drive to Ohio, and with my very limited internet connection, I might go insane trying to upload it to youtube. But you’ll be impressed. Guaranteed.
A big ghost. A very big ghost.
But I have a big day ahead of me tomorrow, so it’s off to bed… well, of to van bench. It’s actually more comfortable than you’d think.
srsly.
