Oh so busy. Coach is having her baby today!!! it's going to be a girl...i can feel it.
tomorrow i fly to seattle and vacation begins! i've never been to washington before. apparently there is a rainforest there, who know. not to mention mountains, lavender fields, and a rocky coast, which i do love so.
i now really believe in the saying, "don't make someone a priority when they make you an option."
so very true.
i'm so excited for cooler weather!!

today i am helping my friend charlie move into her new home. but mostly i just intend to swim in her new frumpy bean-shaped pool.
last night i watched a special on fox news about honor killings in america....it upset me so bad that a father or mother could savagely murder their own child for bringing dishonor or not following moral codes of the family.... there are things call grace and mercy and compassion that go beyond condemnation... and i suppose some people are too far skewed in their minds to ever experience any of the three. people that murder their own children deserve the worst of the worst. i can't imagine a more dishonorable thing than to have the blood of my own child on my hands.
but anyways....

Hopefully today will be lazy-empty of obligations and chores. I finally got a postcard from heywood! now that he is off the trail he can call me again too. now he's out of new mexico and at the tetons. i'm so jealous! i won't see him till august 12th. ::sigh::
i'm ready for my own adventure! i've never been to washington before and can't wait to go on some white water; it's been way too long. i've also read that washington is the lavender capital of the world, with fields and fields of the stuff everywhere. that makes me smile with excitement!
it makes me so nervous for someone to say they want to spend the rest of their life with me if i let them... the rest of my life is so scary sounding and i'm so young to think of it! ahh.
i'm ready to travel and be swept away!

Today it is brutally hot. I was awoken this morning by the stifling heat and bitter realization that the AC was turned off. The air feels very heavy and sticky but there's something comforting about it as well. I feel very southern in making this comment but...i long for a porch swing and either a glass of lemonade or sweet tea, wearing a dainty cotton dress with little flowers speckle over like freckles and a white sunbonnet.
Seeing as i have none of the above things i desire today, perhaps i will go swimming instead. Cheap trade.
Then, Westside Story tonight at the playhouse! Ballet afterwards in the amphitheater garden. Some things are just too lovely for words.

first entry ever. prolific.
i am missing heywood terribly. strange, how a month can either go by fast or seem to be an eternity. i sincerly hope he is having a lovely time exploring the west, and i hope he comes home with pockets full of stories. i hope it's not too silly though that i wish he is missing me terribly as well. i wrote him a nice letter and used a wax seal, which i know he will adore. : )
i'm keeping myself busy atleast- i've started decorating a lovely journal my sister made for me with old photographs and pressed flowers, just things that are precious to me. the work hardly seems so.
also an old friend is staying with me for a week. it's bittersweet to see how our lives have shifted and how priorities have changed. reminiscing is one of my most favorite things.
today we and two other friends of mine are making candle holders out of neat looking glass bottles we got from Cafe Louisa. excitement!

it's all a matter of preference. everything i've had featured except 'a field' i would not have actually chosen to be selected if i had a chance to alter it xD
like school anthologies and such that make poets grumble about obvious or poor selections.
