Spring Clean & Remastering

11/13/2008 at 10:31 PM

Have been working on a load of dodgy tracks, some clean, most not.., others a lil sketchy, Will post em all on the "Pause Records" release :)
So unfort.. no previews. I'm still a 9-5er and believe in free music., so when they are fin' they are all yours. :)
Take Care

great stuff, loving the 2nd track, I'm a sucker for strings, and when the glitch drops its just on the brink of being completely out of control, love it

Hey there,
I'm totally digging your two new tracks. There's such a well of creativity in your music and your arrangements are always very nice. Every time I listen to one of your tracks I keep thinking about the differnet types of films your stuff would do good in. I wonder if you've ever considered composing for film. . .maybe you've already gone that direction and I just don't know it yet. Anyway, I enjoy listening to your work :) Cheers!

Thank you very much. I use mostly software (Reason 4, Acid 6, Soundforge 8, Pro Tools) and some hardware (MPD 24, Turntables/Mixer, Midi keyboard) to make music. On the creative side of things I can relate to your process as well. Most of my songs are more spontaneous creations. Take care, and keep up the greatness.

Hey There,
Thanks for your wlecome, kind words and feedback about my music blog.
I think your music is absolutely wonderful. . .I really enjoyed listening to it.
Great work!

I certainly didn't mean to imply that the use of intentional "bit crushing", overloading and distorting of the signal isn't legitimate as a tool to create texture musically. Your music, in fact, is a great example of just how cool that type of treatment of the audio signal can be. In fact, I am in total agreement with every comment you made about my blog. . . so If my blog seemed a bit arrogant I apologize. I think, perhaps, I might have been misunderstood. You're right, music is very subjective and no one should be excluded from expressing themselves in this medium.

My blog "The Loudnes War, A Quiet Battle"
is an atempt to specifically point out what is happening in mastering labs (studios) around the globe and how audio engineers are being pressured to over maximize audio tracks for purposes other than atristic textural considerations. Again, the best way to see/hear what I'm talking about is to watch the Matt Mayflied demonstration video attached to my blog.

Thanks again for your feedback. . .I really appreciate it. Perhaps I should amend this blog to clarifiy that I'm not talking about the intentional manipulation of audio for artistic expression. . .What do you think?

Take care and have a wonderful day :)
