I believe you need to add a band first, if you go to Your Account, in the menu on the left - under the YOUR BANDS it has add a band. and then in the faq for uploading audio, it says:

Go to the profile editor. Click on the pencil icon in the upper right hand corner of the audio player box. On the upload page, select the playlist, album, song name and copyright year. If you leave the box checked for "Make this song downloadable", other users will be able to download it to their computer so that they can take it with them on their mp3 player, etc. Click the "Upload mp3 file" button and find the audio files on your computer. Click the "" button. When the photo is finished uploading, click the "BACK TO PROFILE EDITOR" to continue editing your profile page.
