hi there malte s....thanks for you question...although it's a difficult one to answer and it usually depends on the particular track and feel i'm going for. on most of my tracks i try to play at least one instrument, recording it into my compute then laying down other tracks via some midi programs (like Reason...my fav app.)...but if i have specific musical ideas then i use Sibelius (notation program) to write out the music then import the midi into Reason and edit it from there.....adding fx, changing parameters on the instruments and such....although i rarely feel like a work is complete! lol...how bout yourself?
