second blog in 4 months (second record too)

it's been pretty quiet here. But there's lots of stuff going on right now.
Firstly, I'm about to recieve a nice unexpected financial bonus, that allows me to finally do some investments in equipment (did I say finally?) For years, your average thrift store had better equipment than me. People like to bitch over the sound quality of my beats, but don't realise I do it on a 5 (going on 6) year old pc that still has one of the first soundblaster Live's. Also I never had money to buy records to sample from so my source material is always messy. But they love it when Dilla yells "sounds like it's comin straight of the mufukkin cassette", and that's where it's at. But all that's gonna change. I'm gonna get some near field monitors, a nice Delta soundcard and put it all in a fresh pc.

I'm also gonna get a decent D-SLR camera. I'm doubting between the Nikon D40x or D80. The latter is slighty more expensive, a bigger body (which I like) and more flexible, but the 40x is gonna serve me right as well and is a lot lighter and more compact.
And a videocamera as well... but that's not gonna be anything special.
But if anyone has any experience with either of the two nikon cameras, let me know what you think... decision is hard.

to my new homestead on the idiotnet. I'm not into blogging that much but this site lets me put up music as well as video and artwork, so that's pretty cool. We'll see what happens. Anyway, a bit about me.
I'm kuromaku, 23 years old from the south of the Netherlands (don't call it holland).
I do a lot of music, guess you could call it abstract hiphop, when I started I was heavily influenced by the likes Dj Krush and Amon Tobin and that's probably still obvious. I even did some rapping at some point, but that kinda flew over since I have nothing to talk about in my lyrics.
I used to be in law school, but I dropped out to do something more creative. Next year I'll start animation in art school, and I'm looking forward to it. So recently I've been working on animations and doing some design related stuff, to expand what I do. I don't know if it's any good, but I like it.
