Bird bails, java quirky

12/31/2006 at 7:37 AM

Still tinkering around HV, found that the apps -do- work once I enable java in my browser(s). One of the applets seems to have a pretty severe memory leak problem tho, think it might be the gallery drag-n-drop `cause my mem-monitor creeps up from 140k (when I launch the gallery edit) to 1716k+ after sitting latent for a few minutes.

Another issue is the drag-n-drop capabilities for element positioning. No biggie but... I lose visibility of the ghosted (dragged item) while moving the elememt to a new position. Lots of screen garbage as the screen redraw pixelates and, more often than not, I find elements set up to display as thirds don't always allow grouping on the same element row.

I'm starting to like pink-n-grey...\

Good work Jon!

First day, new feet...

Found HV through link, quite impressed really.. at least so far (for a beta) it's head-n-shoulders better than 96% of the other social communities I've browsed. Being principally a Mac user, I'm finding a few -issues- with components and feature tools in HV but, in their defense, it's most likely user error.

Gallery and Image uploads aren't dynamic (I don't see an edit button) and, when I create a new gallery (in FF at least) there's no image icon to click or drag to. Safari and BonEcho (FF optimized for intelMacs) display a div/placeholder but still... nada.

Gimme a day, I'll play and see what I can break, make work, turn on and off. Pink and grey is the new black right?

btw, love the bird but... he doesn't go away, ever, ever ever... :-(
