I use stories as the initial sketches for my industrial design. I think about characters, scenes, and conversations, then design an object that will feed this narrative. I'm fascinated by the meanings that designed objects convey and by ritual behavior.
I used to be a student of creative writing, and loved it because it allowed me to construct entire worlds for my characters. I now tell stories through product design, and still strive to make each product an immersive world.
Because, the most anoying problem with the "italian moka pot" is that it's hard to wash it... And also that the dirt stick in the corners. :-/
Beware of the hotness of the metal when you place it on the fire... If you have a kid, this strange cube boiling could be the best thing to take with is hands, admitting that you're not keeping an eye on it.
