"Fluffie" is the name that I have chosen from the depths of my mental instibility to call this project. She is a mechanical mask, custom designed, sculpted, fabricated, painted and hair-punched by me. Designed to fit over an actor's head, the jaw moves with the actor's jaw, and additional movements (ie- the ears flatten, and the tongue wiggles) are cable controlled by an assistant.
Fluffie is based on the scottish mythological character of the Kelpie, a horse-like creature that inhabited lonely lakes, luring travelers into the water and then devouring them.
