Power Poisoned

What a bitter taste has power
When it is not well used
It sours further to poison
When it's deliberately abused
Would that those who willingly wield
This blasted, beastly bracer
Could be forced to drink it
As an eventide chaser
Their wake could serve a warning
To all in authority
And justice lover could joyfully dance
On the grace of forced servility
