I'm weekly opinions columnist in my town. I used to be pretty heavy in poetry, but I haven't writing verse in ages.
I'm teaching creative writing; God help them.
I also teach high school remediation and public speaking.

I know I need help, just not sure with what.

I had a dream last night that I was trying to read poetry to a bunch of corporate dudes on the third story of my new bookstore. I had spent the morning trying my best not to drop books over the side of the building, but they were all stacked up on a window sill and I have a terrible vertigo, so I was accidentally tipping them over. I seem to remember one of them being a children's book with hard edges, and I wondered whether or not that'd rip through a person's head. Then for some reason we had to sit around in a circle and read poetry, but the one that I got had line breaks in the middle of words, with no spaces or punctuation. I stumbled and swore and the dream promptly ended.
