The wind and the swell.

It's just another folk song running through my head
and no, of course I didn't say what should have been said.
The first time i met you, you were at my grandfathers cellar door
you asked for just one bottle, one bottle
and nothing more

I could tell from the tears running down your face
that you weren't the biggest fan of this place
so that night, i left you a case of the strongest red wine I could find.

Bitter wine to the chirping birds
Its time to dig the poppy seed
from underneath the nails.

Today is crucial. I've never felt more distant from the ones that are closest to me. All the while sipping on a glass of burgundy. (glass of burgundy, classy as all fuck, right? psssht.) Good god, i can't wait to head back to Jerseydale. This city life is not for me.

I'm a reasonable man, get off my case.

Setting Forth

It's always strange to take a step back, to take a look around and accept your doubts and maybe even take the leash off of their strained little necks. My doubts and I, we enjoy a good dance. Sometimes in the rain, other times in the downtown train. Either way, we now acknowledge each other, unlike before, when the dog eared man inside me would tread into troubled water unconsciously.

I change my plea to guilty and I do so with open arms.
