windy roads forseen
big neon signs,
determined fate
from strangers to friends
to strangers again
we walked,
jumped,
ran,
skidded,
right back into each others arms
only to U-turn to the very beginning
like we never left
and sometimes
I'm ahead while you lag
and sometimes
you sprint without me
- forwards, towards more
away from me
vanishing in the distance
it was inevitable,
from the moment we met
that we were to fall apart,
all the while bathing in
lavish bubbles of promises,
hope
you fell - hard
taking me down with you
as did I,
free-falling into
a bottomless pit
because misery often
enjoys company
I wanted to be
your safety net
catching your bone crushing
weight, emotional baggage
and all
thinking I was stronger
than this,
than you
Set my own trap,
prepared my downfall,
pride myself in breaking
both hearts and soul,
sacrifices seen as offerings
as we run into yet another
