Povera pasta della sardina dell'uomo or Poor man's Sardine Pasta
(Hope I got the italian right)
I really didn't measure how much I put so just use the more-or-less method.
or you could taste it. (Solo Lunch)
Main Ingredients:
Sardines in olive oil (I used the bottled kind)
Pasta
Onions
Garlic
Salt&Peppa
Optional:
Green bell peppers
Fresh Tomatoes
Red Chili Pepper Flakes
For Pasta:
OK, so first I got a pot and put some water, olive oil, and a LITTLE salt. I waited for it to boil like
crazy then put the pasta in. (I used spagetti. If you did also, cut them in half.)
-----While we wait for pasta------
Making the Sauce:
Start with a skillet and putting some olive oil, let it get hot. Then, saute the garlic THEN onions THEN tomatoes (if there are any). Wait a while then introduce Sardines. Mash up the Sardines a bit. If you have Bell Peppers, now is the time. Add Red Chili Pepper Flakes, if you want it SPICY. Taste then add salt or pepper if necessary. (BE careful, my lunch got a LITTLE TOO SALTY.)
========If your pasta is not ready turn off the heat on your sauce so as not to burn stuff========
(Especially the Chili, heard they can be quite bitter when burned.)
OK, so if both are ready, then stir the pasta with the sauce in the skillet and then SERVE. Yey!
