Well, the point system is an incentive for the people to be active on HV! By rewarding you prizes if you reach a certain amount of points. You get points by commenting to people, so welcoming people is a great way to rack up points. When you add people, you'll get around 5 pts. When you upload your works, and a whole other load of stuff.

Hmmm. Do you have the right media player for this place. I think either shockwave or quickplayer work here. Or your java applet isn't up-to-date. If not then report it because it could be a bug. I wouldn't know the full details of this because I have not actually uploaded a video yet. So if what I said doesn't work, my best bet would be to go to the support center and file a ticket with them, explaining the situation.
