Cactus (aka Daniel Hintz) is a late-night radio DJ on KUSF in San Francisco (90.3fm or 24/7 live stream at www.kusf.org). He spins a thick mix of dark ambient, noise, experimental, free jazz, black metal, field recordings, drone, avant classical, post-punk, polka, and so on. Cactus hosts the long-running program Defeat Sleep, which is heard every friday night from 3am-8am Saturday mornings (pst). Cactus is also an ambient black metal guitarist, as well as a writer of micro-absurdist poems.
