John McCain, You Silly Man, You...

10/9/2008 at 11:04 PM

"Barack Obama (John's voice quivering profusely) pork-barreled an earmark of three million dollars for an 'overhead' projector. Can you believe that?" (John finishes, his voice again shaky with misleadingness and vague implication, testament to an eight year plague that's befallen this country's Republican leadership)

Further investigation reveals that this "overhead projector" is not in fact a crony-laden overspending gaffe by Obama, but a benevolent move by a good polititician to do his part for his constituents. The three million in funds for the "over-head projector" is to replace the aging projection system at the Chicago Planetarium. The overhead projector is not for the showing of transparencies and use of dry erase markers, but for the inspiration of young minds that tour the planetarium. The "overhead projector" is big as a house and actually costs ten million dollars. The planetarium is raising the other seven million and simply asked the government for a little help in inspiring young minds.

Surely John McCain knew that? This is just a very sad swipe at a man I am liking more and more and liking his opponent less and less. John, though I only have a high school education I am not a dumbshit. Please refrain from feeding me crap disguised as fact and please stop assuming the old Republican platform of saving me from gays, atheists and terrorists is even relevant anymore if you cannot just represent yourself as qualified to handle diverse and disastrous issues facing our country at this point. The fact that you appear to think I'm stupid enough to buy this baloney makes me think you even less intelligent and qualified to be my president. Again, I am understanding why Obama graduated top of his class at Harvard and you graduated fifth from the bottom at Westpoint.

I'd like a little intellect in the oval office for a change, please? Appealing to the fear and irrational instinct part of the republican brain is no longer working. I think I feel a little hee-haw creeping up my throat...
