2 Weeks

4/27/2008 at 3:44 AM

Just 2 more weeks and I'm finished with my Sophomore year of college. I still can't believe it. I know it's cliché, but it's went by too fast. I feel like I started this semester only a week ago.

A few things happened this weekend, found a few dozen good books to read and finished 3, 2000+ pages in 2 days. All that reading, along with my recent writing, has got me thinking about writing a book. While it's still a long way off, I've drafted a few pages and am working on notes for back story and the world. From what I've told others, it sounds like they were genuinely interested and couldn't wait to read it. I'll start posting it when I finish the first few chapters.

Best Day Meets Worst

Well Monday was awesome... today was hell. Things just did not go right. I need an A in my American Govt., and Chorus, Econ classes (have those covered) and a B in Calculus, Organic Chem, and my physics lab (X, X, and X). Oh boy, what fun, I get to play catch up these last 2 weeks and hope to God I can pull a B by the skin of my teeth. Otherwise I lose my scholarships, and can't transfer, which means degree change. Great news, huh?

Sidenote: Finally started reading for fun again... wow, that hasn't happened since high school... and I must've really missed it, 500 p[ages in 1 day. On to book #3.

Best Day in a While.

It's about time that things started to look up. These last few weeks have been miserable.

I woke up this morning at 7:30 like usual and realized that I didn't have a lab this morning. Score, two weeks of school left, labs are done, WOOT. Back to bed.

Now having throughly rested, I get up at 10:30 and head to over to Starbucks (yes I buy their overpriced coffee in the mornings, because I really don't want to make my own). I decide to head out to the lake on campus and enjoy the sunlight. It was perfect out there, upper 70s, a light breeze, clear blue sky with a few puffy clouds floating lazily by. I laid out and started watching the clouds.

I woke up at about noon. I had missed my class, no big deal. She doesn't have a strict attendance policy. So I head on to my econ class. Good thing I decided to go, pop quiz, free 5 points on our final grade. Score.

Head off to my open lab at the math building. As usual, no one shows up on Tuesday. I head off to Talons to get lunch. Awesome, food in less that 20mins. Even better, news about the class that I skipped that morning. Everyone has an A or B. Heck yeah.

Briefly Me

I view myself as a very relaxed individual. I'm not excitable, I don't worry, and I'm generally very easy to get along with due to a more-or-less pacifistic outlook. That being said, any of my friends will attest, that I am quite possibly the most eccentric, random and generally most scatterbrained person that they know. To slight them, it's okay I'm content with my oddities and have been for a while now. How about you?

A little background on myself: I'm a MSE major (materials science and engineering) who dabbles in just about any subject under the sun: art, music, history, physics, chemistry, you name it. While I've never thought to become a vocalist by trade, I've always enjoyed singing and since the 7th grade, I've been part of some form of choir. I picked up photography a few years ago, and have been toying with the idea of becoming a graphical arts double major, or minoring in photography. My dream job would be to work for the Lockheed Martin Skunk Works.

I generally despise exercise, mainly due to my knees. However, you will probably have to drag me out of the pool, because I will swim for hours. Actually, I think that applies to almost anything water related: skiing, wakeboarding, kite-boarding (most awesome sport ever), jet skiing except surfing, because the east coast waves SUCK.
