New project

Today, while working on some questions for a roundtable in my Gospel of Mark class, I was struck with a poem. It fell together from the poetry reading I attended yesterday, going out with a friend afterward, and the old Tapestry podcast I was listening to while I supposed to be working, about the lost word "acedia." The poem seemed to come to an end, but I feel that more will follow it as further poems fall similarly together.
I'm thinking of calling it all "Romanticise me."
It's heavy with imagery and self-reflexive romanticism. It is a portrait of the artist, perhaps in the popular mode, perhaps as Bacchus. You can find the first installment under the gallery 'Romanticise me.'

Work in Progress

I'm working on a full-out neo-romantic poem, and a long one. I'm really applying myself to the imagery and the rhyme scheme. I'm throwing some imageries together that don't go together. It's all i'm working on right now, except sometimes character sketches for another project that will be a long time coming anyway.

Free Books
5/31/2007 at 6:04 PM
My school had a book sale today to raise money for CHEO. There was a free book room. I raided it. I aquired 5 olb books (2 out of interest, 3 out of of potential antique value), one university textbook on literary criticism, and the complete works of Chaucer (that one wasn't fee, but a friend bought it for me). Walking home under the weight of all those books, in the heat, was no small task, but it was surely worth it.
